about

I use to write lyrics very abstract and hard to understand. This song "Hit the Sky" is reminiscent of that style, abstract. But I will "spill" what this song is about. It's about how I can get lost in my own thoughts and worries. Nothing bad has actually happened to me in this song, but I'm worried about things happening. I'm playing them out and making them worse than they are. I'm about to Hit the Sky, or blow up. Of course, if I did, everyone would be surprised because they wouldn't have known what was bothering me!

lyrics

Please quiet
Don’t tell me what I know
Everybody knows
And everything is in my head
Don’t put me down
I can’t stand to be on the ground
But I’m broken
And nobody needs a broken boy

To love
Please love me
Someday
I’ll tell you what I know
I’ll tell you I can’t change alone
I’m nothing without you

Holding me down
From flying away
And hitting the sky
Like a firecracker
Blowing away from the earth
It hates so much
Because of the devil it is
And the tricks it plays
On a weak little mind
That only wants to love you
But if you must
Goodbye.
